Challenges include Nine Lives where you can only die nine times before your save file deletes itself, or Naked Paws where you cannot equip weapons or armor. These should add a tremendous amount of challenge to the game for seasoned players, and appropriately there are special rewards and achievements to unlock by playing Mew Game in different ways. It’s sort of like New Game+, but instead of starting the game over with enemies at a higher level, Mew Game adds 8 different challenges that can be activated to make Cat Quest II even tougher. I finished Mew Game and at the epilogue it's asking me to give a weapon to a save slot. I really wish the game modes were better explained somewhere, I've had to piece together what all of the game modes mean and what the rewards are by reading a bunch of random reddit posts. Or the Level One meow-difier which forces you to play through the entire game as just a Level 1 character. Cat Quest 2: I can't make sense of Mew Game rewards. For example, the Naked Cat meow-difier won’t allow you to equip any armors or weapons, so you’ll need to beat the game just with what you start with. Here you’ll actually begin the game fresh but with optional “meow-difiers" which affect how you can play. An arguably more interesting take on that idea is the Mew Game mode, which you can also play once beating the main game. Once you’ve beaten Cat Quest you can choose to start in New Game+ and play through the game again using your current level and equipment.
